In early 2010 the Lord began speaking to Bill Murchison about planting a vineyard in the East Mountains. As he prayed and sought the Lord for clarification about what he had heard, the word was confirmed prophetically to Bill and Karen through others. In May 2010, Bill began to share his vision with others that he felt might be interested in being a part of the church plant. At the end of July the Core Group, which consisted of nine people, began meeting every other week at Bill’s house. During this time, Bill went through the church planting process required by the Vineyard USA. On October 13, 2010, Bill received notice from the Vineyard USA that the church plant had been formally approved. In November 2011, the church had outgrown Bill’s home, and began meeting in facility at 87 Saddle Spur Trail, Edgewood, NM. On February 28, EMV closed on a new facility, located at # 1 Eunice Court, Edgewood, NM 87015, our current meeting place. We had our first Sunday there on August 3, 2014.
Bill believes in the plurality of elders, and has brought on others to help with the pastoral responsibilities. The current pastoral team consists of Pastors Bill & Karen Murchison, Pastor Bill & Nelfa Bice, and Pastor Greg & Linda Richard.
The East Mountain Vineyard Church is going through a transition period.
