Worship The Lord – Worship From The Nations Part 17

Worship From The Nations Part 17

By Pastor Bill

Worship with the NationsIn Revelation 5 John gets a glimpse of the four creatures and the twenty-four elders before the throne and they are worshipping the Lamb. Each one had a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. (Worship and intercession go together here on earth and in heaven.) What were they singing to the Lamb? They sang a new song about how the Lamb was worthy because He purchased with His blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation. He made all of them to be a kingdom of priests to our God, and to reign upon the earth. They were celebrating the salvation of people from all over the earth.

(Rev 5:8-10) “… the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. {9} And they *sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals; for You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation. {10} “You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth.”

In chapter 7, John sees a great multitude of people which no one could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes, and had palm branches in their hands. What are they doing? They are worshipping the Lord, crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.”

(Rev 7:9-10) “After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches were in their hands; {10} and they cry out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.”

John saw into the future. He saw all the nations, tribes, tongues and peoples worshipping before the Lamb. It will be a glorious time of worship with everyone worshipping together. What will it take in the present for this future celebration in heaven? Jesus told us to go and preach the gospel to all nations. (See Mark 16:15.) Jesus has done His part. He has shed His blood for all peoples. Our job is to proclaim the gospel to all nations. Worship in heaven will not be complete without all the nations and tribes and tongues.

Lord, help us to prepare for worship by proclaiming the gospel to all nations, tribes, and tongues. Give us a heart for the nations. May we  worship here on earth, just as we will worship in heaven, with people from every nation, tribe, people and tongue. Amen.
